Vinum: wine and party highlight at SO/ Vienna
The exclusive event ‘WINE ON TOP powered by Kalk&Kegel’ took place at the Hotel SO/ Vienna as a highlight of the recent VieVinum wine festival at the Vienna Hofburg in Austria. In addition to the breathtaking view over the city, the international audience enjoyed the selected wines from a renowned winegrowers' line-up.

More than 400 wine guests from all over the world gathered in the restaurant Das LOFT on the 18th floor of the Hotel SO/ Vienna on the second day of the trade fair to taste, toast and celebrate late into the night with a select group of winemakers after an intensive day at the Hofburg Vienna in Austria. Host Christian Klaus, General Manager of the hotel: ‘This is the second time that our Head Sommelier Tomas Hynek has brought the top names in the wine industry to us for this event. We are particularly pleased with the great feedback, which makes us look forward to the next Wine on Top event in 2026.’
Enthusiastic feedback from guests from all over the world, among them many Masters of Wine, experts from the sommelier and wine trade, was not long in coming. Among them was a letter of thanks from Danish star sommelier Mads Jordansen: ‘Thanks for an amazing evening. Great location, wine (very high level) and great people. Really enjoyed it. So thanks for the invite!’
The wines from renowned wineries from Austria, Germany, Spain and Slovakia were tasted while enjoying a fantastic view over Vienna at night. In addition, chef Peter Duransky served a flying dinner, which ended at midnight with a flavoursome Viennese goulash. By then, the exhibiting winegrowers had already mingled among the party guests, namely the Schödl siblings, Dagmar and Roland Velich, Christian Tschida, Hannes Schuster, Sophie Christmann, Lukas and Clemens Strobl, Clemens Busch, Stefanie and Alwin Jurtschitsch, Jan Raumland, Karsten Peter, Monika and Armin Tement, Alberto Pedrajo and the teams from trinkreif, Slovakian Wine Selection and Wacholderbär.
